This piece was inspired by the civil rights protests that enraged across the country in 2020 sparked particularly by the murder of George Floyd by police officers. So much has occurred during these protest, and even more over the pandemic that turned everyone’s lives upsides down. If we are to make progress, it is more crucial than ever for us to UNITE as a people across all races, creeds and cultures for a better future. A future of understanding, empathy, freedom and togetherness. This piece reads the creed “United we Stand” because there are those that make and effort and some that even take a profit in the division of the people, so we cannot forget what is truly important and stick together. This piece also exhibits two skulls of different toned flesh uniting at the crown (the amount of different toned flesh is so small it’s barely even noticed because even though we can acknowledge our differences, we must maintain respect and it they shouldn’t keep us from coming together in common interests).
